We have IFRA on all fragrance oils and flavor oils on our website.
What do the maximum levels mean? Let's use Almond Paradise as an example. The IFRA guidelines on this state that there are no restrictions for soaps, shampoos, lotions, etc. So does that mean you can use 100% in your product? No. That would mean your product consists of straight fragrance oil.
The IFRA states the *max* that can be used, not the recommended amount. It is the responsibility of the maker to do their research to see what the recommended usage rate of fragrance oil for their particular recipe is.
For soap, as a general rule of thumb you will use up to 5% of fragrance oil in Cold Process (CP) soap and up to 3% in Melt and Pour (M&P) soap.
So, if you see a fragrance oil and the IFRA says 23% for soap, don't use 23%. IFRA is important when it comes to lower numbers. There are a few fragrance oils that have max usage rates that are less than the percentages shown above. In that case, you can only use the max shown for the oil.

I mixed and incorporated everything back together and there is an oil slick on the top of my soap. I will try in other products. COMMENTS: I love this scent. I’ve been soaping for over 20 years. But this fragrance has almost got the best of me. Because of the reviews about ricing I soaped cool. Not a good idea. It looked like rice floating in oil. I make 20 pounds at a time and can make 200 pounds in a day. So not my first rodeo. I put it the pot back on the stove and heated it back up to 110. Then every 5 minutes I stick blended on the slowest speed to blend everything together. After one hour of doing this I’m finally putting this soap in a mold. So will let you know if I’ll make it again.

COMMENTS: The pineapple is more predominate, but it is a wonderful scent. Not a huge jasmine fan, but this does not overpower at all. I made burning oils and got a little on my hand. Went to see a couple friends and they said they could smell it from across the room but they both loved it (and one was a guy!). Definitely a unique blended fragrance I am adding to my stock. Advantages: Good, strong smell

COMMENTS: Why oh why does this fragrance not work for me in cold process soap?? I've tried twice, using 2 different recipes and both riced horribly. I did, however, get a successful batch with hot process, but this beautiful fragrance deserves the swirls that only cp can give it. Lol Advantages: Lovely fragrance for lotions, scrubs, bath bombs. Disadvantages: Severe ricing in cold process that I was not able to blend away.

COMMENTS: I don't care if you're a floral, musky, or fruity type fragrance lover, THIS fragrance is sure to be a favorite by all. When I first open the bottle, my mouth instantly began to water! Words cannot describe how delicious this fragrance oil is, and it behaves beautifully in cold process soap. I will for sure be purchasing a large bottle of this, as I know my customers are going to snap this one up in a flash! Advantages: A++++ fragrance! Soaps beautifully in cold process soap. Made this soap about three weeks ago and the fragrance is still as amazing as the day I poured it. No discoloration, morphing, or acceleration. Disadvantages: I experienced a small amount of ricing when mixed with soap colored with titanium dioxide, but stick blended out within seconds.
