Directions: All About IFRA
We have IFRA on all fragrance oils and flavor oils on our website.
What do the maximum levels mean? Let's use Almond Paradise as an example. The IFRA guidelines on this state that there are no restrictions for soaps, shampoos, lotions, etc. So does that mean you can use 100% in your product? No. That would mean your product consists of straight fragrance oil.
The IFRA states the *max* that can be used, not the recommended amount. It is the responsibility of the maker to do their research to see what the recommended usage rate of fragrance oil for their particular recipe is.
For soap, as a general rule of thumb you will use up to 5% of fragrance oil in Cold Process (CP) soap and up to 3% in Melt and Pour (M&P) soap.
So, if you see a fragrance oil and the IFRA says 23% for soap, don't use 23%. IFRA is important when it comes to lower numbers. There are a few fragrance oils that have max usage rates that are less than the percentages shown above. In that case, you can only use the max shown for the oil.

COMMENTS: I REALLY wanted to love this scent and I was so excited to introduce this into my new Spring line of candles but sadly, it has a weak hot throw. I let it cure for more than 2 weeks, tried it...then waited a few more days and tried it again but nope! I used 10% in GB 464. I may still try it with soap because the smell out of the bottle is sooo good! Advantages: Smells amazing out of the bottle and beautiful cold throw Disadvantages: Not a good hot throw

"Raspberry Lilac is a soft..."
COMMENTS: Raspberry Lilac is a softer but lovely fragrance. In lotion and body spray it is very nice. In parasoy at 10% fragrance load, it has a good hot throw, however it does lack longevity compared to many others from RE. Advantages: Good cold & hot throw in parasoy. Great for those liking softer fragrances. Disadvantages: Doesn't last long in melts.

"The raspberry comes throu..."
COMMENTS: The raspberry comes through very nice and with a floral vibe behind it. Very lovely scent OOB and in my wax melts using 1oz per lb parasoy. However my hot throw just wasn't as strong as I prefer. I would def recommend this fragrance if u prefer a light, airy throw or maybe try upping the oil amount. It was very nice in room sprays too! I had better luck with this in the sprays! It's a beautiful scent nonetheless! Advantages: Pretty. And as alwasy shipping with RE is awesome! Disadvantages: Hot throw is too light for my tastes.

"This is by far the most w..."
COMMENTS: This is by far the most wonderful fragrance I use...and I use a lot. I love everything about this fragrance. It stays spot on and strong in wax and M&P soap. Is extremely easy to use in CP soap considering it's a floral. Advantages: Strong cold and hot throw in wax. Does not accelerate in CP soap. Disadvantages: Haven't found any yet, and I have been using for 2 years.

"I had high hopes for this..."
COMMENTS: I had high hopes for this one but while it didn't discolor or accelerate in CP goat milk soap, the scent morphs to something unpleasant, not even remotely close to raspberry or lilacs. :( I wouldn't soap it again. Advantages: NO A or D Disadvantages: The scent morphs.

"Out of bottle the raspber..."
COMMENTS: Out of bottle the raspberry totally overpowered the lilac! Lilacs are my favorite flowers so I was really going to be upset if this scent didn't balance in my test soap. I made a sample with my melt and pour and thankfully it balanced out! The sweet, juicy raspberry compliments the fresh and strong lilacs! Advantages: A great combination of floral and fruit! Disadvantages: The raspberry smelled like it overpowered the lilac out of bottle! Be sure to test and see if it balances out before committing!
