Lingonberries are to Scandinavians what blackberries are to Americans - an abundant wild fruit free for the taking by anyone with a basket, a harvesting fork, and the patience to pick through and clean their harvest. Produced by low, evergreen shrubs throughout Scandinavia's forests, the tart red berries are much smaller and juicier than their distant cousin, the cranberry. Our Lingonberry Wreath fragrance oil celebrates this fruit with notes of red cranberries, juicy peach, grapefruit zest, apple slices, violet blossoms, and creamy vanilla.

Directions: All About IFRA
We have IFRA on all fragrance oils and flavor oils on our website.
What do the maximum levels mean? Let's use Almond Paradise as an example. The IFRA guidelines on this state that there are no restrictions for soaps, shampoos, lotions, etc. So does that mean you can use 100% in your product? No. That would mean your product consists of straight fragrance oil.
The IFRA states the *max* that can be used, not the recommended amount. It is the responsibility of the maker to do their research to see what the recommended usage rate of fragrance oil for their particular recipe is.
For soap, as a general rule of thumb you will use up to 5% of fragrance oil in Cold Process (CP) soap and up to 3% in Melt and Pour (M&P) soap.
So, if you see a fragrance oil and the IFRA says 23% for soap, don't use 23%. IFRA is important when it comes to lower numbers. There are a few fragrance oils that have max usage rates that are less than the percentages shown above. In that case, you can only use the max shown for the oil.

COMMENTS: I bought a sample during the fall sale. Used it in a sample cp soap, and wow! Immediate separation and ricing! Stick blended it like crazy, and still had difficulty, but the scent is amazing, a very complex, fruity, strong scent. It might be usable in a very slow tracing recipe. Advantages: Wonderful, complex scent. Disadvantages: Instant ricing and separation.

"This fragrance is AMAZING..."
COMMENTS: This fragrance is AMAZING. I do not like berry smells in my soaps. However, I fell in love with this smell. That said, this fragrance is not for wimps when it comes to CP soaps. It ate my lunch. It took great effort to outwit it but If finally got it to do a hanger swirl. I had to work fast. It required strategy. It is well worth the anguish. Advantages: Smells divine. People love the smell immediately. Disadvantages: It is a nightmare to work with. Requires lots of planning, speed, and strategy.

COMMENTS: This one is tricky to work with, but the scent is pretty great. We're featuring it again this year for our holiday line in soap and room sprays. Advantages: The scent is to die for. Autumn through winter. Disadvantages: Separation and acceleration, even in HP, but manageable. The scent is worht the hassle, but don't plan layering or swirls.

"The fragrance is spectacu..."
COMMENTS: The fragrance is spectacular! Bright, sweet and crisp, perfect for autumn and winter lines. HOWEVER, it caused nearly immediate separation in my CP soap on two separate occasions. I was able to dump my batch into a pot and HP the soap, where it turned out fine. but there was no way to save it as CP. Advantages: I will keep it on hand because I love the fragrance and am willing to do other things with it. Disadvantages: Not CP friendly.
