We have IFRA on all fragrance oils and flavor oils on our website.
What do the maximum levels mean? Let's use Almond Paradise as an example. The IFRA guidelines on this state that there are no restrictions for soaps, shampoos, lotions, etc. So does that mean you can use 100% in your product? No. That would mean your product consists of straight fragrance oil.
The IFRA states the *max* that can be used, not the recommended amount. It is the responsibility of the maker to do their research to see what the recommended usage rate of fragrance oil for their particular recipe is.
For soap, as a general rule of thumb you will use up to 5% of fragrance oil in Cold Process (CP) soap and up to 3% in Melt and Pour (M&P) soap.
So, if you see a fragrance oil and the IFRA says 23% for soap, don't use 23%. IFRA is important when it comes to lower numbers. There are a few fragrance oils that have max usage rates that are less than the percentages shown above. In that case, you can only use the max shown for the oil.

COMMENTS: This is the best Chocolate I have ever had the privilege to smell. It truly does smell like Chocolate Cake. I have mixed it with other food scents for a beautiful perfume food smell. If you want a strong, chocolate smell then this is the one for you. Advantages: Strong, no fade, mixes well with other scents to create some beautiful food type concoctions. Disadvantages: need to order a bigger bottle.

COMMENTS: After testing about 15 other chocolate fragrances in search of one that gave a true chocolate scent that wasn't overly sweet, this one stands out as the winner! A local chocolate factory has approved this scent for me to start making their signature candles. Advantages: It gives a nice dark chocolate scent without being overly "vanilla".

COMMENTS: All I can saw is WOW! This smells exactly like a big ol' piece of chocolate cake. I used this in soap and body butter and it does well with both. When I use the body butter, I can't stop sniffing my skin. Advantages: Wonderful fragrance, no issues at all with cold process soap. Disadvantages: None

COMMENTS: Having purchased every other suppliers "Chocolate" scents, I had to come back to this one! This is the only one that we found that has a true chocolate scent, and mixes divinely with Peppermint EO for a "Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream" scent. "It smelled like a Tootsie..."
COMMENTS: It smelled like a Tootsie Roll out of bottle and in my test sample. I like Tootsie Rolls but that's not what I wanted. It doesn't smell like a warm baked cake with chocolately frosting. Maybe because I don't do cold process that it isn't the same in melt and pour? Advantages: If you like Tootsie Rolls you'll go mad for this in melt and pour. Disadvantages: It doesn't smell like a baked cake like Birthday cake. It doesn't even smell like cake batter. Just candy.
