We have IFRA on all fragrance oils and flavor oils on our website.
What do the maximum levels mean? Let's use Almond Paradise as an example. The IFRA guidelines on this state that there are no restrictions for soaps, shampoos, lotions, etc. So does that mean you can use 100% in your product? No. That would mean your product consists of straight fragrance oil.
The IFRA states the *max* that can be used, not the recommended amount. It is the responsibility of the maker to do their research to see what the recommended usage rate of fragrance oil for their particular recipe is.
For soap, as a general rule of thumb you will use up to 5% of fragrance oil in Cold Process (CP) soap and up to 3% in Melt and Pour (M&P) soap.
So, if you see a fragrance oil and the IFRA says 23% for soap, don't use 23%. IFRA is important when it comes to lower numbers. There are a few fragrance oils that have max usage rates that are less than the percentages shown above. In that case, you can only use the max shown for the oil.

COMMENTS: The fragrance itself is a little too sweet for masculine fragrance. On the other hand, I was making cold process with: olive, shea, safflower, coconut, palm and castor and it priced big time, temperature approx 125 F.

COMMENTS: I love this fragrance, it is definitely one of my favorites, but if your recipe has a lot of hard oils, like min, it will accelerate. I did manage to get it in the mold and put it straight into the freezer because it was HOT. I love it so much I think I will try a different recipe just to use with this fragrance.

"Love this fragrance, but I forgot about..."
COMMENTS: You guys, this is easily in my personal top 5 favorite fragrances. It's been a couple years since I purchased last and I have reformulated my recipe since. Today, I produced a very lovely smelling soap volcano, which may or may not come out more or less like I had hoped in the end. In adding beeswax to my original formula, which needs to be soaped at a higher temp to accommodate its melting point, I brought the likelihood of acceleration up as well. I will have to keep this in mind next time, because it did not accelerate this quickly last time and I was caught off-guard. I still love this fragrance and will definitely purchase again.

"Lovely scent, but not what I expected"
COMMENTS: Used in parasoy wax tarts. Beautiful scent, I would definitely use this in a soap or lotion. I guess I wax expecting more of a charred smell, the smoky scent that clings to your clothes after a bonfire. Instead it had more of a pine scent mixed with some light florals. That was not only my opinion but also of every person in my household. I play the "guess this scent" game and pine was the first that came up every time. Great cold and hot throw, great scent, just not a bonfire scent.

COMMENTS: I have enjoyed this scent very much, but my customers are having a hard time smelling it and I used 1 oz per pound of oil.s My bars were left natural so perhaps my customers would have associated smell had I used a few colors of mica. :) Advantages: Easy to work with in cold process soap. I was hoping for a bit of discoloration (this time lol) but there was none. Disadvantages: A warm, comforting, scent for Autumn. I wish it were just a bit stronger though.

I wasn't sure how I felt about it out of the bottle, but after soaping with it (behaved well in CP at room temp) I find I keep coming back to it and smelling it--and liking it more and more. Odd as it may sound for this type of scent, it is what I would call a "happy" scent.
The soap is fully cured now (pushing 3 months, actually) and the scent is strong and true. Yay! Advantages: Behaves very well in CP soap
Good scent strenth Disadvantages: hint of discoloration, but nothing that interferes with my colors.

COMMENTS: Made my first successful soy candle at 10% strength and cured for only 4 days, still smells strong. I'm going to try with paraffin next because I can't get enough of this wonderful scent. Advantages: Strong throw even with shorter cure time . Out of the bottle, this is the most mysteriously gorgeous scent. COMMENTS: I will admit I had droughts about this fragrance. Boy, was I wrong it is awesome! I made cp soap and as it cured the back notes of marshmallow and amber blended in with the smokey cedar aroma. I am not a fan of cedar but in this fragrance It is light and blends nicely with the slightly sweet smoke scent. Perfect fall and winter scent! Advantages: No soaping issues in cp goat milk soap. Scent does not fade it just gets better as it cures! Disadvantages: None!

COMMENTS: This was one of the first scents I bought when I first started making my own tarts for personal use. It's truly amazing! I love the complexity of the scent, the cedar, the slight sweetness and the slight smokiness....it's just a classic scent to me! It will go down as one of my all time fav scents. I have since purchased many, many bonfires and campfire scents that make me gag from other companies but this one is just perfection!! It's not a huge seller for me yet (my area customers are hard core bakery fanatics) but that's ok, I'll keep these for me! I use 1.5oz per lb in parasoy tarts and it def does not require that much scent. Advantages: It isn't gag me smoke filled like I've been standing in campfire smoke! It's more the sweet woodsy side of a bonfire!

COMMENTS: Omg! This is the best FO in my opinion, I ordered a sample size and then the 2 Oz bottle, about to order the 16 Oz bottle, this is the first fo I used in my 1st CP soap I ever made. I'm from Louisiana so I was trying for an LSU BONFIRE theme Taiwan swirl, purple, and yellow, it turned my purple, pink lol but the next day it was back to purple, thickened a little, but I may have stick blended too long. This was my first CP soap I made. Will definitely keep stock of this scent. Of the 5 loaves I've made, this is the one I use every night to bathe with.
Also amazing in wax melts. Advantages: Great long lasting scent in CP and wax Disadvantages: At first, turned my purple pink but next day, it was purple again. Speeds trace a little, but may have been my fault due to being a new soaper

The scent changes a bit in soap and looses some of the smokiness. Still a really wonderful, different scent. Not the absolute best seller but it is definitely well liked.
I did notice some heating when I made the soap though. It accelerated some and heated. It was in gel less than 3 minutes after I got it into the mold. But, I soaped it a little hotter than I normally do on accident. Last time I made that mistake however, I didnt get gel like that. Advantages: -Wonderful complex scent that works for both bath and body/wax
Disadvantages: -May not play perfectly in soap depending on your recipe.
